Fountain.......................................................George Henry McLain Burnette, age 66, of Fountain NC died Monday, June 12, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pam Burnette; son, George Burnette Jr. and fiancée, Brandy Boyd; son, Brian Burnette and wife, Ashley; grandchildren, Raygan, Brayden, Emma and Kylie Burnette; sisters, Mary Paula Boswell and husband, Ernest of Virginia Beach, VA and Cara Winstead and husband, Wayne of Apex NC; nephews and nieces John Brown, Mary Lane Boswell and Noah Winstead. George was born in Fountain February 9, 1951 to the late Paul and Emma Burnette. He was preceded in death by his brother Rick Burnette. It has been said that "to know George was to love him". He was a friend to all and was always interested in meeting new people. He could talk to anyone no matter their background. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. George was known for his committed work ethic. He worked hard all his life and was devoted to caring for his family. He loved being on the farm and was a lifelong resident of Fountain. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17 at 2:00pm at the Fountain Presbyterian Church by Rev. Jane Rose and Rev. Kevin Dibert.
