New Bern...............................Gerald Lee Whitley, age 62, died Sunday, February 7, 2016. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, at 1:00 P.M. at the Two Rivers Church, 3321 Neuse Boulevard, in New Bern, officiated by Rev. Dave McCants. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his father, Marion Whitley and his mother, Jimmie Lamb; brother, Joe Whitley; and sister, Joan Whitley. He is survived by his daughter, Sierra Whitley of New Bern; sons, Shay Lee Whitley of Hookerton and Richard Lee Whitley of New Bern; sister, Linda Daniels of Farmville; and two grandchildren, Teairra and Dakota Sawyer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Farmville Funeral Home, P.O. Box 268, Farmville, NC 27828 to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements by Farmville Funeral Home.
