Farmville, NC...........................................Ella "Winford" Sanders Crosby, age 84, passed peacefully in her home with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Mrs. Crosby was born in Laurens County, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Crosby. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and was also a military wife and mother in Jacksonville, NC until the move back to Warner Robbins, GA where she and "Bill" made their home. She had lived the past five years and called Farmville her home with her daughter. She was survived by a son, Al Crosby (Tonya) of St. Stephens, SC; daughter, Lisa Vandiford of the home; grandson, William Jared Crosby of Zebulon, NC; her siblings, Maureen Sanders Weed (Terry) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Billy Sanders (Claudia) of Montgomery, AL, Martha Sanders Blackwell (Bob) of Cochran, GA, Connie Sanders Walters (Kenny) of Byron, GA, and Ronnie Sanders of Byron, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, at the Chapel of Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran, GA. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2:00 P.M. At a later date a celebration of life will be held at the Farmville Church of God where she was honored to call her church. The family would like to give a special thank you to Annie Mae Rouse for the many months of love and care she provided to Ella, and also to 3HC Hospice for the love, kindness, and support.
