Walstonburg.................................Flora Johnson Herring, age 88, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 P.M. from the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 407 Appie Road, Walstonburg by Rev. Glenn Pate. Interment will follow in the Stantonsburg Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Horace T. "Chuck" Herring III and wife, Larke of Walstonburg; sister, Bille J. Albritton of Hookerton; grandchildren, Hannah Herring Schultz and husband, Derek and Horace T. "Taylor" Herring IV; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Carl Crowson and Joel James Crowson; great-grandchildren, Lauren Crowson, Spencer Crowson, and Carter Crowson. The family wishes to express a special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Betty Jo Owens. The family will receive friends immediately following the interment at her home, 1505 Appie Road, Walstonburg.
