Kay (Helen) Windhom

Kay (Helen) Windhom, age 92, of Greenville passed away peacefully on March 6, 2020 with her family by her side. Kay was born September 19, 1927 in Middletown, CT, the daughter of the late Michael Birner and Helen Loos Birner. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, William Windhom, in 1992. Kay shared her adventurous spirit and compassion for others with many friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and avid knitter and her friends were often rewarded with the fruits of her labor. Survivors include siblings, George and Michael Birner and Greta O'Connell, daughters, Yarrow Summers and Melinda Perkins, granddaughter, Kaitlyn Paulson and great-granddaughters., Penelope and Morgan Paulson, who were the lights of her life. In addition, Kay is survived by four step-children and their families. At Kay's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to King's Cross Roads OFWB Church, 2080 Seven Pines Road, Fountain, NC 27829. Soar with the angels, sweet lady. Arrangements are by Farmville Funeral Home.
