Robenia Wells "Punk" Speight

Walstonburg.....................Robenia Wells "Punk" Speight, age 84, passed away July 3, 2016, at Greendale Forest Nursing Center. She was born on October 22, 1931 to James Cleveland and Zula Lucas Wells. Mrs. Speight was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Speight; her parents; daughter, Beverly Speight; brother, James Delmous Wells; sisters, Julia Wells Eatmon Woodard, Vada Wells Lamm, Kathalene Wells Davis, and Louise Wells Lynch. Robenia spent all of her adult life in Waltonsburg. She had a talent for sewing and altered many clothes for members of the community. She taught many ladies how to sew through Lenoir Community College sewing classes, and enjoyed every lady she had in those classes. She was also a member of the Walstonburg Christian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Carol Speight of Greenville; grandson, Ronnie Flora Jr. of Charlotte; granddaughter, Tammy Hardison Holder and husband, David of Rocky Mount; great-granddaughters, Ashley Hardison and Meagan Flora; great-grandsons, Dalton Thomas Hardison and wife, Morgan of Fountain, Billy Ray Hardison, Joshua Hardison, and David Hardison all of Rocky Mount; great-great grandson, Daniel Blaine Godwin Jr. of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 5 P.M. from the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Charles Lucas. Interment will follow in the Walstonburg Cemetery.
