Alice Crute Glass

Alice Crute Glass, 88, of Walstonburg, North Carolina, became absent from the body and present with the Lord, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Goldsboro Assisted Living in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Born February 3, 1933, in Halifax County Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Bransford Crute and Pearle Beale Crute. On October 9, 1951 she married her husband, Kenneth Harrison Glass who preceded her in death after almost 48 years of marriage.

Being the last of her generation she was predeceased by three brothers, Charles D. Crute, Beverly B. Crute, and C. Samuel Crute; two sisters Nannie C. Weaver and Jane C. Turner; and one great grandson Christian Sullivan.

She is survived by three children, Tony Harrison Glass and wife Frankie of Snow Hill, North Carolina, John Adams Glass and wife Gayle of Butner, North Carolina; and Judy Glass Koontz of Salem, Oregon; eight grandchildren Benjamin Sullivan and wife Jennifer, Steve Sullivan and wife Michelle, Jennifer Henard and husband Michael, Lauren Jones and husband Lewis, Rachel Koontz, Joseph Koontz, Eric Koontz, and Joanie Koontz; seven great grandchildren Ashe Sullivan and wife Claudia, Colton Sullivan, Russell Sullivan, Summer Sullivan, Caroline Henard, Paisley Jones; and three great great granddaughters Ember, August and Reyna Sullivan.

A Graveside service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday September 14, 2021, at Halifax Memorial gardens, 3211 Halifax Road (Route 501), South Boston, Virginia. The family will receive friends after the service.

The family greatly appreciates the loving care given our mother over the past 5 years by the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living of Goldsboro and especially the love and concern of Community Hospice and Goldsboro Assisted Living of Goldsboro North Carolina.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the churches she loved which are Ash Avenue Baptist Church, 900 Ash Avenue, South Boston, Virginia 24592 or Howell Swamp Original Free Will Baptist Church, 930 Meadow Road, Walstonburg, North Carolina 27888.
