Annie Ross Gurganus

Farmville………………………….Annie Ross Gurganus, age 103, died peacefully in the company of her immediate family and caregiver on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her home.

                                    Mrs. Gurganus was a member of the First Christian Church of Farmville, was a former award-winning saleslady for Charlotte Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and was well-known for her “green thumb” which was recognized with Farmville’s Yard of the Season multiple times. She was a faithful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Gurganus.

                                    She is survived by her sons, Warren Douglas Gurganus and wife, Joyce of Apex and Melvin Hunter Gurganus and wife, Carol of Colerain; brother, Frank “Fonda” Ross of Port Orchard, WA; grandchildren, Jennifer Greenwell, Julienne Vicente, and Roxanne Huffman; 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The family also wishes to thankfully acknowledgem Ms. Frances Gayhardt, loving caregiver for more than 10 years.

                                    Funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 24, at 2:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Morgan Daughety. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
