Annie Lee (Peaden) Joyner

Fountain…………………………………………….. Annie Lee Peaden Joyner, age 91, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center.

                                                                        She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Peaden and Annie Mae Peaden; husband, Benjamin Franklin “BF” Joyner; sister, Mary Wooten, and brothers, Dalton Peaden and Donald Peaden.

                                                                        Annie Lee spent most of her life working on the family farm. She sold green peanuts for over 30 years. Family and friends would gather around the peanut piles, picking away and sharing stories. Annie Lee also worked in the local factory with her dear friend, Ms. Lily Dickens. When she wasn’t working, she loved to shop with all of her Sharp Point buddies. In later years, her main job was taking care of her family. She was the primary caregiver for her mother until her death. Then came her best job ever, taking care of her grandsons, Tyler and Zach. She was an amazing cook, with homemade banana pudding being her specialty. 

                                                                        A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 AM at The Peaden Family Cemetery, Sharp Point Road, by Rev. Jay Tripp. Those desiring to pay their respects may do so at Farmville Funeral Home, Friday, June 19, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

                                                                        She is survived by her daughter, Debra Pegram, and husband, Herman, of Fountain; son, Ben Joyner, and wife, Jeri, of Tarboro; and the apples of her eye, Tyler and Zach Pegram.

                                                                        The family would like to thank her caregivers, Ms. Cynthia Parker, Shelby Mooring, and Maggie Mitchell.
