Connie Downing Wooten

Connie Downing Wooten, age 68, died Wednesday April 29, 2026.

A graveside service will be held, Monday, May 4 at 2:00 P.M. at Hollywood Cemetery In Farmville. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Keith Wooten; parents James Frederick Downing Jr., and Mary Foscue Downing; and mother-in-law, Myrtle Wooten Sugg.

She is survived by son, Charles Linwood Scott III and wife, Nicki of Rocky Mount; daughter, Cassandra Wooten and fiancé, John Sauls of Wilson; brother, James Frederick Downing III of Wilson; sister, Betsy Louise Downing of Wilson; grandsons, Dylan Williams of Greenville, Colby Scott of Farmville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; a very special best friend, Teresa Parker of Wilson; and so many lifelong friends whom she loved so much.

Connie was well known, and will be remembered for her compassion and always putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
