Farmville………………………………………………. Don “Rufus” Daniels, 84, of Farmville NC passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Rufus was born to George and Rosa Daniels on July 17, 1939.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, November 9, at 11:00 A.M. at the Snow Hill Cemetery by Rev. Graham Byrum. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home.
He served 17 years in the National Guard then worked for over 40 years in the food industry as a meat cutter until his retirement from Food Pride in Farmville. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed many years of fishing at James River with his wife and brother, Bobby.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 35 years, Linda Whitley Daniels and his children Wendy Sutton Pittman (Bennie), Randy Daniels (Shona) and step-daughters Gail Meadows and Tammie Albritton (Robbie); seven grandchildren, Lane Little (Matthew), Paige Mintz (Michael), Miranda Woolard (Caleb), Skylar Daniels, Travis Brann (Sarah), Hunter Brann (Karsen) and Lindsey Meadows; five great-grandchildren, Allison Mintz, Liam Mintz, Tucker Brann, Ellie Brann and Brylee Kate Brann; beloved pets, Buddy, Willie and Ginger; brothers, Bobby Daniels (Sheila), Ray Daniels (Myra) and sisters Jean and Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, Carl, and DR Daniels and sisters, Janie, Lilly, Margaret, Alma and Grace.
