Donald Peaden Obituary

Greenville…………………………...Donald Ray Peaden passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2024 at the age of 82.

                                                            Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 5, at 11:00 A.M. at Dilda’s Grove Free Will Baptist Church by Rev. Carlton Oakley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church located at 2796 Carraway Road, Macclesfield, NC.

                                                            Donald and his family grew up in Sharp Point, NC on the family farm.  While working on the farm and working at Exxon Oil he married Ella Marie West and raised two children, Mike and Donna. He then worked for EMC for 25 years.  In 1994 he fell in love with Mable Peaden and married on New Year’s Day.  Donald worked side by side with Mable at Peaden’s Grill for 30 years.

                                                            Donald loved his family dearly and spent hours everyday with his dogs at the pond.  Precious was the last one and she was by his side until a few days before Donald’s passing.

                                                            Donald’s favorite things to do was to make everyone smile and laugh.  He enjoyed tinkering with things, singing, playing guitar and going fishing.  His love for God showed all the time.  He would read his bible faithfully every day.

                                                            Donald was preceded in death by his dad, Henry Peaden; mom, Annie Mae Edwards Peaden; first wife, Ella Marie Peaden; brother, Dalton Peaden; sister, Mary Wooten; daughter, Donna Owens; and son, Ray Windham.

                                                            He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mable Peaden; son, Mike  and wife, Dawn; daughter, Teresa and husband, Perry; son-in-law, Doug and fiancé, Dawn; sister, Annie Lee; grandchildren, Crystal and husband, Chris, Sherrie and husband, John, Brandon, Christian and wife, Kenzie, Zachary and wife, Amber, Holly and Jay; great grandchildren, Taylor, Summer, Anna, Mason, Riley, Ladon, Brickson, Canyon, and Trek; great great grandchild, Kian (Sweetie) and other family members.
