Doris Oakley Britt, 89, of 3120 Howard Drive, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 8, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 11th at 11:00am at the Farmville Presbyterian Church. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 9:30am- 10:40am in the Family Life Center. A private graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Britt was a graduate of Farmville High School. She was a member of Farmville Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Tennie and Mamie Oakley; husbands, William Hobgood and Tom Britt; and siblings Carlyle Oakley, Robert Oakley, Anna Garris, Katherine Matthews, James Willis Oakley, Earl Oakley, Brooks Oakley, Marl Oakley, Frances House, and Faye Bailey.
She is survived by her children: Marty Hobgood (Margaret), Ronnie Hobgood (Mitzi), Kelly Hobgood (Ruben), Winnie Gaynor (Mike), Jack Kite (Bliss); grandchildren: Melissa Smith (Jay), Jessica Moss (Alan), Josh Hobgood (Sara), Madison Hobgood, Will Hobgood, Anna Brooks Gaynor, Britt Gaynor, Camila Arias, Aarika Brock; Thomas Tyson (Kya); Great Grandchildren: Taylor Smith, Kaiden Hobgood-Thomas, Emma Moss, Henry Smith, William Moss, Oakley Hobgood, Fitz Hobgood, Austin Brock, Tyson Brock, Raelyn Tyson and Ella Tyson.
She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Billie House, Bobby Hobgood (Margaret); sisters-in-law Betty Oakley, Jane Little, and Patricia Armitage (Bill) and a host of nieces and nephews.
