Douglas Arthur Walston age, 79 died Friday June 19, 2026.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain by Rev. Doug Skinner. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Robin Anderson (Brian) Tarboro, NC, Michael Walston (Corie) Farmville, NC, Christina Dennison (Garry) Fountain, NC; grandchildren, Brian (Heather), Caitlin, Nicholas, Aaron, Brandon, Christopher, Mason (Zach), Caleb, Jacob, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Brilynn, Autumn, Ella, Logan, Landyn, Ayrleigh, Morgan, and Ashlyn; brothers, Ray Walston, Williamston, NC and Robert Walston (Angie) Windsor, NC; sister Marie Gonzalez (Lupe) Farmville, NC; many cherished nieces and nephews; and furbabies: Daisy and Hailey   

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Turner Walston, his parents, Arthur Miller and Nannie Lee Walston, his sisters, Patricia Simpson and Brenda Leigh Todd, and his brother, Fred Walston.

Douglas was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He loved spending time with his friends at the Fountain Senior Center and delivering Meals on Wheels. He was a devoted member of Otters Creek FWB Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fountain Senior Center located at 6743 E. Wilson Street, Fountain, NC 27829.
