Edward Evans Obituary

Eddie Evans, born January 12, 1948, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sat., May 31, 2025. A Celebration of Life service, conducted by Pastor Graham Byrum, will be held at the First Baptist Church in Farmville, NC at 11:00 am on Fri., June 6, 2025. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.

An Army veteran, an avid fisherman, a golfer, and a master carpenter, Eddie was blessed with a loving and caring character. He had a servant’s heart willing to help others in need, especially the elderly and widowed. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. Eddie was a loyal friend and welcomed his friends to visit him at home during his long illness. Shared memories, lots of laughter, and strong bonds of friendship often filled his home.

He graduated from Farmville High School in 1966 where he earned all-conference football recognitions and competed at the state level of Track and Field events. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service for twenty-six years.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Susie Evans, his brother Mike Evans, and his beloved daughter Lou Evans Reida.

A lifetime of wonderful memories will be cherished by his wife of 54 years Niki Outland Evans, his grandson Nick Reida, and his son-in-law Tim Reida of Farmville. Eddie’s extended family of uncles, aunts, and cousins held a very special place in his heart.
