Elizabeth Jordan Gay

Elizabeth Jordan Gay passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the age of 95.

                                                Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21 at 11:00 A.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by Donald Lee Womble. Committal service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Jordan Family Cemetery, 699 Polly Watson Road, Fremont, NC 27830. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

                                                Elizabeth spent 30 years teaching. She taught Home Economics at Saratoga High School and then taught Kindergarten in Edgecombe County for 25 years, Mrs. Gay was a member of Aspen Grove Free Will Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary and Choir. Her hobbies included baking and sewing.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gay; son, John Gay Jr.

                                                She is survived by a daughter, Ann Gay Koegel, and husband, Curtis; daughter-in-law, Debbie Gay; grandchildren, Chrissy Gay, James Gay, Cameron Koegel, and Braydan Koegel.

                                    The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Spring Arbor of Cary and Amedysis Hospice for their care over this past year.
