Elwood Ervin Jones

Greenville……………………………Elwood Ervin Jones, 87, passed away at his home Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born July 10, 1933, in Snow Hill, NC.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed being with his family, traveling, and working in his yard. He was a patient, soothing presence for those who met him and attentive to those close to him. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer McLaughlin of Dallas, TX; and grandsons, Ian McLaughlin of Austin, TX, Brendan McLaughlin and Aidan McLaughlin of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dixie Schoen Jones; and parents, Owen Thomas Jones and Sallie Hill Jones; and sister, Almarie Jones.

Viewing available on Thursday, April 15, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Friday, April 16, at 2:00 P.M. at the Snow Hill Cemetery by Rev. Joyce Day. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
