Eugene Prichard

Hookerton………………………Eugene Prichard, age 85, died Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home.

                                                Graveside service will be held Monday, July 24, at 11:00 A.M. at the Mercer Family Cemetery, 1555 Mercer Road, Walstonburg, NC by Rev. Daylon Mooneyham.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

                                                Mr. Prichard was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service which included three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a highly decorated veteran and was devoted to his country. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by everyone he met.   He had a heart for God.

                                                He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ethel Prichard of the home; daughters, Debra Mercer and husband, Tony of Walstonburg and Charlene Chenault and husband, Kevin of Columbus, Ohio; sons, Eugene Prichard Jr. and fiancé, Cindy of South Bloomingville, Ohio and Glen Edward Prichard of Hookerton; sisters, Dewonna Miller and Masel Ramirez, both of Columbus, Ohio; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and his two dogs, Buddy and Baby.

                                                Arrangements are by Farmville Funeral Home.
