Fountain…………………Faye Oakley Bailey, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 17th. She was the daughter of the late Tennie B. and Mamie Oakley of Farmville, NC. Faye grew up in Farmville and attended Farmville High School. She was married to Henry B Bailey for 63 years.
Faye lived in Fountain until she relocated to live with her daughter and later transitioned to The Indigo Memory and Alzheimer's Care in Pikeville.
She was a member of Fountain Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church and her church family. She witnessed to others of her love for Christ up until her passing.
Faye enjoyed working in her yard, and often times her neighbor’s yard! She could be found with a rake or hoe outside.
A service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at The Farmville Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends and family at the home of her daughter.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Bailey (Tammy) of Orange Park, Fl, Jeffrey Bailey (Lynn) of Fountain, and daughter Pam (Rob) Stroud of Farmville; her grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Chatelain of Farmville, Chelsea (Glen) Evans of Farmville; Kelsi (Michael) McCafferty of Green Cove Springs, Fl.; Ashley (Taylor) Rutland of Dothan, Al, Trey (Kara) McQuaig of Fleming Island, FL; and Katie Stroud of Tallahassee, Fl. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Cooper Evans; Sophia and Olivia Chatelain; Beckett, Emma Brooks and Avery Kate Rutland; and Riley, Cameron, and Maverick McCafferty.
She is survived by her sister Doris Britt of Farmville, and preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bailey, and grandson Alan Bailey of Fountain, and 10 sisters and brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Indigo of Pikeville for their excellent care, and Catherine of Gentiva Hospice for her compassionate care.
