Greenville………………………………….Frank Cox Jones, age 76, died Wednesday April 22, 2026.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 P.M. at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson by Rev. Donna Kraus. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Frank was a native of Farmville and a lifelong musician and guitar teacher whose career spanned 50 years. He taught himself to play guitar in high school, and he performed with several bands, including the Farmville Downbeats. Frank will be remembered for his musical talent, dedication to teaching, and generous service to his community through organizations such as the Samaritan’s Purse and the Farmville Community Outreach Soup Kitchen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Jones Jr. and Maggie Cox Jones; and a brother Dr. Will Jones III.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Frank Jones of Raleigh; daughters, Aaryn Jones (Jason) and family of Atlanta, GA, and Candace Asbury (Kyle) and family of Belmont; and a sister, Julie Jones Lucy of Yorktown, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 3505 S. Walnut St. Farmville, NC 27828.
