Frederick Earl Umphlett

Farmville................................Frederick Earl Umphlett, age 73, died Thursday, September 24, 2015. A private graveside service will be held. Mr. Umphlett was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars having served in the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He earned his Associates Degree from Pitt Community College in Accounting and worked as a CPA in Farmville since 1982. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Farmville and had been a supporter of Boy Scout Troop 25 in Farmville for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine F. Umphlett; sister, Sandra Stocks; and brothers, Raymond and Jesse Umphlett. He is survived by a daughter, Maurey Verzier and husband, Buddy of Winterville; son, Brenton Umphlett and wife, Blair of Farmville; sisters, Lola Baine of Florida, Lois Engelhardt of Kentucky, Dorothy Sullivan and Linda Umphlett both of Greenville; grandchildren, Devon and Hailey Umphlett, and Alysa and Sean Verzier; and faithful and loving companion, Donna Moore and her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Farmville Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5 until 7:00 P.M.
