Gerry married Ervin Franklin “Frank” Cockrell on May 1, 1960, in Portsmouth, VA. They soon returned to eastern North Carolina, where they lived the rest of their lives in Wilson and Farmville.
Gerry will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to family, and her faithful service to God. She was a loyal, long-time employee of AC Monk/Diamond Tobacco Company in Farmville. She and Frank were long-time members of Aspen Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Fountain, NC, where Frank ministered for many years.
Gerry is survived by her four grandchildren, Owen, Brennan, Emberlee, and Izzie; her loving daughter-in-law, Candice; three nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alonia Narron; her brother, Joseph Clifton “J.C.” Narron; her sister, Alma Ruth Narron Johnson, her husband, Frank; and her sons, Scott Anthony Cockrell and Jason Lee Cockrell.
