Hilda Gray (Brown) Sutton

Greenville……………………... Hilda Gray Brown Sutton, age 86, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her home.  

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, at 12:00 PM at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Zack Woolard. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  

Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. “Babe” Sutton; daughter, Jackie Mayo; grandsons, Scott Isley and Bradley Sutton; parents, Frank and Inez Brown; sister, Hazel Craft; brothers, Dick Brown, PeeWee Brown, Donnie Brown, and Wesley Brown, who was like a brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Sutton Isley, and husband, Wolfe, of Blount’s Creek; sons, Robert Sutton Jr., and wife, Lynn of Greenville and James Michael Sutton and wife, Debbie, of Vanceboro; brothers, Walter Brown and wife, Carol of Youngsville, and Tom Brown and wife, Jean of Durham; grandchildren, Megan Dunn and husband, Hunter, Lindsey Ford and husband, Nick, and Cameron Sutton; two great grandchildren, Chase Dunn and Carter Dunn; several nieces and nephews, as well as bonus daughter, Kelly Nobles and a special friend, Annie Johnson.
