James Alvin Baker Sr.

Mr. James Alvin Baker, Sr., age 51, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

James was born on June 6, 1970 in Washington, North Carolina to his parents: Joseph Edward Baker, Sr. and Evelyn Wells Baker. Mr. Baker moved to Taylorsville in May of 2020 from Farmville, NC. James worked for Koch Foods in Rockmart and attended 101 Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley, going fishing and being a jokester. Mr. Baker was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Baker, Sr., and his two brothers: Joseph Edward Baker, Jr. and Dennis Ray Baker. 

James is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Baker of Taylorsville, GA, children: James Baker, Jr. (Brandy) of Pink Hill, NC, Haley Hamilton (Terry) of Farmville, NC, mother, Evelyn Baker, Farmville, NC, grandchildren: Adalynn and Peyton, brother, Leland “Pete” Baker (Lisa) of Farmville, NC, sister, Annie Herrin (Robert) of Farmville, NC, brother-in-law, Ronnie Rouse of Farmville, NC, sisters-in-law, Lucy Baker of Raleigh, NC and April Vinson of Snow Hill, NC,  numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.

In keeping with the families wishes, Mr. Baker will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in Farmville, NC on November 13, 2021 at Farmville Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. (4226 East Church St, Farmville, NC 27828)
