Mr. Toney was preceded in death by his father, James Ray Toney.

He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Toney and Kayleigh Toney both of Hookerton; son, James Steven Toney Jr. of Ayden; mother, Mary Toney of Farmville; brother, Larry Toney of Farmville; significant other, Kim Wilkins of Walstonburg; and two grandchildren.
