Macclesfield………….James “JR” Raymond Deans Jr., age 77, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Kings Crossroads OFWB Church in Fountain, NC on Wednesday, July 17 from 10:00 A.M until 10:45 A.M. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Bruce Jones with burial immediately following at Edgecombe Memorial Cemetery in Tarboro, NC.
James or as most people knew him, JR, served in the US Army for 2 years. He was Sgt. E5 HDQ in the 2nd 34th Armor Battalion. He received the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte P. Deans; parents, Jimmie R. Deans and Beaulah H. Deans and brother, Dennis L. Deans.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Oakley and husband Lewis of Macclesfield; grandchildren, Jamison Oakley and wife Ashley; Marla Horton and husband Jay Horton and great grandchildren, Canyon Oakley, Abel Oakley, and CJ Horton.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in his honor to Kings Crossroads OFWB Church, ACF, 2080 Seven Pines Road, Fountain, NC, 27829.
