Jennifer Fowler Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennifer Edwards Fowler, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left us peacefully on December 15, surrounded by her loving family.

Jennifer, known to those closest to her as JJ, resided in Farmville, North Carolina.  She grew up in Severn, North Carolina where she was a graduate of Northampton County High School-East.  She later graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.

JJ was a devoted mother to her two cherished sons, Joseph Quinton Fowler and Julian Braxton Fowler who were the light of her life. Her love for her family was boundless, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them. JJ enjoyed making memories with her family and loved her photos and heirlooms.

JJ was blessed to have her mother, Betty Jean Edwards, as her caregiver and best friend. Their relationship was a testament to the enduring love between a mother and daughter, filled with shared joys and cherished moments.

In addition to her sons and mother, JJ is survived by her brothers, Dal Edwards and wife, Marie, Guy Edwards, and wife, Windy and Emory Edwards and wife, Hillary.  She also had an extended family of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, and friends who she enjoyed staying connected with throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her father, Dalton Edwards, with whom she shared a special bond.  JJ was very much her father’s pride and joy.

As we remember JJ, we celebrate her unwavering spirit, her love for her family, and the invaluable impact she had on those around her. JJ extended her love for others through her many years of tireless advocacy and service as a social worker in foster care for Pitt County Social Services.

A memorial service will be held on December 19 at 4pm at Christ’s Church in Winterville by Rev. Tim Turner, where family and friends are invited to honor her life and legacy. Family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either of two organizations that JJ greatly supported, the Christ’s Church Youth Group or Bridge Foster Ministry.
