Farmville………………………Jessie Daniel Strickland, age 81, died Wednesday, August 14 2024. 

                                    Visitation will be Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Don Daniels with burial immediately following at Hollywood Cemetery. 

                                    Jessie was a farmer for over 30 years.  He enjoyed fishing, being outside and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite pastime was riding his granddaughter, Ava, around on the lawn mower.

                                    He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie R. Strickland.

                                    He is survived by his daughter, Denise Smith of Farmville; sister, Faye Wainwright of Farmville; brothers, Glenn Strickland and wife, Mary Alice and Kenneth Strickland and wife, Sandra all of Farmville; grandchildren, Logan Sumrell, Kaley Sumrell and Ava Eastwood.

                                    Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to St. Jude.
