Fountain…………………………………….John Thomas Sawyer Jr., age 82, died Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Graveside service will be held Monday, February 1, at 1:00 P.M. at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville by Rev. Gordon Braxton and Rev. Donald Daniels. The family will receive friends following the service at John’s house.

Mr. Sawyer was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Briley Sawyer; step-daughter, Peggy Ann Edmondson; and step-son, James Alfred Vernon.

He is survived by his daughters, Betty Maness of Ayden and Sharon Edmundson of the home; step-sons, John Edward Vernon II of Greenville and Ronald Jeffrey Vernon of Austin, TX; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Farmville Funeral Home.
