Joyce Peaden Anderson

Mrs. Joyce Peaden Anderson, 85, of Farmville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 29, 2025 at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.  She was born on November 4, 1940 to the late William Edgar and Fannie Corbett Peaden.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Anderson; her two sons, Bobby G. Anderson Jr. and Edward “Eddie” Anderson; her son-in-law, Randy Cooke, her grandson, Clayton Anderson; and her siblings,  James Peaden and Frances Butts.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Dora Cooke of Farmville; her grandchildren, Melanie C. Jordan(Ryan) of Clayton, Mandi Cooke (Jamie) of Benson, Kevin Cooke (Lauren) of Farmville and Brooke Faust (Shayne) of Bell Arthur; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Doris Strickland (Linwood), Carolyn Hardee, William “Uncle Bill” Peaden and Dorothy “Dot” Hart (James), as well and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Joyce was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church in Farmville.  She had a true servant’s heart and always had unwavering faith. Joyce loved her family and spent most of her life being a caretaker, not only helping care for her grandchildren over the years but also her mother and any other family member in need.  Joyce was an exceptional wife, mother, grandma, granny and sister.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Farmville Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 1st, 2026 at 11:00am at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Farmville.
