Joyce Marie (House) Garris

Farmville…………………………………………….. Joyce Marie House Garris, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.

                                                                        She was preceded in death by her parents, Eara Lee House and Nellie Murphy House; grandson, Lee Mills; and sister, Phyllis Watson.

                                                                        A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, at 11:00 AM at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, by Rev. Jimmy Reavis and David Tugwell. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Farmville Funeral Home.  

                                                                        She is survived by her husband, Ray Garris, of the home; daughters, Sandy Garris Mills and husband, Bobby of Irvington, AL and Cynthia Garris and husband, Daniel of Farmville; sister, Bettie Tugwell and husband, David of Farmville; brothers, Bobby House of Farmville and Donald House and wife, Judy of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Brittany Harrison and husband, Adam, Haley Mills, Timothy Tompkins, Allen Mills, Skyler Tompkins, Scott Mills; great grandchildren, Gavin Garris and Maverick Harrison; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors, friends and church family.

                                                                        In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church; 2979 Wesley Church Road; Farmville, NC 27828.
