Lou Evans Reida

Farmville……………………………………………….Lou Evans Reida (Sweet Lou), a beloved wife, mom and daughter, passed peacefully at home on June 20, 2024. She was known for her kind heart, thoughtfulness, fun loving spirit, and strong faith.

                Born July 17, 1975, Lou was raised in Farmville, NC by Eddie and Niki Evans where she attended Farmville Central High School. After graduation, Lou obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s Degree in nursing Leadership from East Carolina University. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Farmville, spending years serving her Lord through singing, teaching, playing the piano, caring for children, and mission work.

                Lou had a fulfilling nursing career at UNC Rex Healthcare and ECU Health (Pitt County Memorial Hospital/Vidant Health) where she spent 27 years in various nursing staff and leadership roles eventually finishing her tenure as Vice President of Quality at ECU Health. She loved her colleagues dearly and considered them her extended family. Professionally, Lou’s passion was working nationally and locally to make patient care safer.

                Lou’s favorite time was at the beach with her family. Many magical memories were made island hopping, shelling, fishing and watching sunsets at Paradise Bay. If you didn’t find her at the beach, she was behind her camera taking pictures of her son’s soccer games and tennis matches, cooking up a delicious meal in the kitchen, cheering on her UNC Tar Heels and Washington Redskins or enjoying a cup of coffee with her husband on their porch.

                She will be dearly missed by her loving and devoted husband of twenty-four years, Tim Reida; son, Nick Reida; parents, Eddie and Niki Eavans of Farmville, NC; mother-in-law Diana Reida of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Kim Helmer and husband, Adam of Clayton, NC; and nephew, Jack Reida.

                She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chester and Nellie Outland, Manley and Susie Wooten, and father-in-law, Dr. Jack Reida.

                A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Farmville, Monday, June 24, at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Graham Byrum. Visitation will be following the service. A private interment will be held.
