Lou Leary (Joyner) Dennis

Raleigh………………………Lou Leary Joyner Dennis, age 64, recently of Farmville, died suddenly on May 14, 2022 at her home in Raleigh, NC.  She was born on May 23rd, 1957 in Kinston, NC to Arthur Forbes Joyner, Jr. and Elizabeth Hardy Joyner.  Lou Leary grew up in Farmville, was a 1979 graduate of Meredith College and had resided in Raleigh for the last 30 years.

                                                She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved former in-laws, Louise and William B. Dennis of Henderson, NC.

                                                Lou Leary had a generous heart and a fierce love for her family and friends.  She was a tremendously caring and devoted mother, daughter, and sister.  Survived by Austin Dennis and spouse Kris Diaz of Greensboro, NC; her only sibling Mary Beth Owens and spouse Mark West of Greenville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

                                                Memorials may be made to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center @seaturtlehospital.org. Lou Leary’s happiest days were spent at her home in Topsail Beach.

                                                A private memorial will be held at a later date.
