Matthew Glenn Morris

Walstonburg……………………………………….Matthew Glenn Morris age 35, passed away September 27, 2022 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

                                                                                A memorial service will be held Friday, September 30, at 6:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Webb.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:30 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

                                                                                Matthew was born on August 5, 1987 in Portland, OR and moved to Walstonburg, NC in 2004.  He graduated from Greene Central High School and attended East Carolina University. He was a veteran having served in the US Air Force.  He was an avid reader and chef and was currently working as a culinary arts instructor at Johnston Correctional Institution.

                                                                                He is survived by his wife, Rachel Ward of the home; son, Bryan Morris of the home; parents, Greg Morris of Vancouver, WA and Bill and Brenda Folston of Walstonburg; sister, Amber Ritchie of Mt. Holly, NJ; maternal grandmother, Esther Poythress of Wilson; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Kathleen Morris of Portland, OR; nephews, Declan and Jason Matthew Ritchie; niece, Rebecca Ritchie; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special Godparents, Linda and Keith Massingill of Portland, OR.
