Melissa Nichols Brock, 68, of Farmville, North Carolina, passed away on October 2, 2025.
Melissa was the beloved mother of Michelle Matthews and her husband Kevin, of the home, and Wayne Yarborough and his wife Tracey. She adored her grandchildren, Brock Rouse and his wife Casey, Evan Windham and his wife Rebecca, Cassidy Rabun. Austin Rabun, and Logan Rabun, and was the proud great-grandmother of Liam Britt, Charlie Rouse, Ella Grace Rouse, Magnolia Windham, Adelaide Windham, and Sterling Windham. She is also survived by her loving sister, Diane Pace of Dillon, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Brock, and her parents, Ed and Kathryn Nichols.
At the age of 50, following the passing of her husband, Melissa courageously changed careers to become a Hospice CNA II. She was known for her compassion, her steady presence, and the way she gave herself wholeheartedly to the families she served. Many of those families continued to reach out to her through the years, a testament to the love and comfort she gave them in their hardest moments. She carried that same tenderness into her own family life, where she was the heart and constant source of strength, love, and prayer.
A graveside service will be held at Pinewood Cemetery in Greenville, NC, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. D.J. Maxey, presiding. Arrangements are being handled by Farmville Funeral Home.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lee Pippin for his care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carolinas Center for Hospice and Home Care Foundation (www.ahhcnc.org), which provides education and advocates for hospice and home care throughout North Carolina — a cause close to Melissa’s heart.
