Pinetops…………………………………..Norman “Pete” Ray Anderson, age 86, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at the NC Veterans Home in Kinston, NC.
Graveside entombment will be held Monday, November 14, at 2:00 P.M. at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Gordon Braxton. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Otter’s Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church where he previously served as a Deacon. He was a 25 year veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He loved to pass out bubble gum to friends and was known as the “bubble gum man” and was a friend to everybody. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Nellie Anderson.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Anderson of Pinetops; daughter, Carol Lee Morris of Pinetops; sisters, Helen Kelly of Winterville and Doris Smith of Greenville; grandchildren, Tanner Williams, Callie Morris, and Brycelinn Morris; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
