Peggy Branch Spain

Peggy Branch Spain, age 89, died Wednesday August 20, 2025.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 29, at 1:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spain was an example of sacrificial service as she cared selflessly and tirelessly for many loved ones throughout her life, including devoting herself to both her late husband, Otis Vance Spain, and her mother’s care in their final years. She was known as a woman who put others before herself, and she will be remembered as a faithful, generous, and loving servant. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughters, Debra Baker and Terry Joyner, and several siblings.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Oakley and husband, Greg of Plumtree, NC; son, Randy Spain and wife, Susan of Winterville; brothers, Mike Branch and wife, Mary Lou of Charleston, SC and Eddie Branch and companion, Linda of Cape Carteret/Swansboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
