Greenville……………Becky Nichols, age 78, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Born to Louis & Daisy Williams, she was raised in Farmville where she graduated from Farmville High School in 1964 as an exceptional student and star athlete on the basketball court. She married the love of her life, Jimmy, in 1965. “When I first saw him in his Army uniform, I thought he was the handsomest man I ever saw” she would say. Jimmy’s military and sales career would take them from Georgia to Greenville, Elizabeth City, Greensboro, Ocean City MD, Sanford, and Southern Pines before retiring back to Greenville in 2009. She remained in the home as a full-time mother to their two children, which she did an outstanding job doing before becoming an amazing grandmother.
She is survived by her two children; Jim Jr. (Tina) of Ocean Pines, MD, and Deana of Sanford; three grandchildren, Christopher of Salisbury, MD, Scott (Ashley) of Holly Springs, NC, and Jacob of Sanford; three great-grandchildren, Blaine, Ava, and Taytum; brother, Bobby of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Dewey Grubb (Mike) of Greenville and Judy of New Bern; special friends Ann & Donny Hemby of Greenville, and a brother-in-law Danny (Beth) of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, her sweet parents, and her beloved brother Louis Williams Jr.
A memorial graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery on Friday, January 31 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
