Fountain……Rebecca Corbett Owens, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, with her family by her side.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, at 2:00 PM at Kings Crossroads Original Free Will Baptist Church, by Rev. Bruce Jones. Interment will follow in Queen Anne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Farmville Funeral Home and other times at the home of Clark and Debbie Owens, 5352 Hwy 222, Fountain.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Kings Cross Roads Original Free Will Baptist Church and was very active in the Fountain community. She worked at North State Garment Company for many years and was part-owner. She had numerous hobbies, but painting was her passion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David “Sweet” C. Owens, and her parents, Edwin A. Corbett and Kathleen H. Corbett.
She is survived by her son, Edwin “Clark” Owens and wife, Debbie; grandson, Jason Clark Owens and wife, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Rylan and Chyles; brother, Robert S. Corbett and wife, Joyce; niece, Camela C. Varnell and husband, Tim; grand-nephew, Adam Varnell; and grand-niece, Jenna Jones and husband, Andrew.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Margie Tripp, Verelean Vines, and Charlotte Dupree.
