Walstonburg…………………………Sallie Diane Mercer Strickland, age 71, died Friday, September 22, 2023.

                                                            Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September, 27 at 6:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.                                                         

                                                              Ms. Strickland was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Leon Mercer and Evelyn Grace Johnson Mercer; brothers, Jimmy and Stanley Mercer; and a grandson, Joshua Wade Peaden.

                                                            She is survived by her children, Angela Tugwell Strickland and husband, Mark of Farmville; Brian Tugwell of Georgia, Portia Strickland Davis and husband, Chad of Farmville, and T.J. Strickland and wife, Tori of Winterville; grandchildren, Shawn Ham, London Love, Katie and Maddie Tugwell, Shay and Paris Davis, Noah, Cloe and Ivy Strickland; great-grandchildren, Christopher Wade Peaden, Huey Love and Scarlett Davis; brother, Stever Mercer and wife, Susie of Walstonburg; and special niece Holly Stoll and husband, Nate of Farmville.
