Ahoskie…………………...Shirley Anne Chappell Jones, age 78, died Thursday, November 23, 2023.

                                                A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 3 at 2:30 P.M. at First Christian Church; 2810 E. 14th Street, Greenville, NC.  The family will receive friends during a reception in the fellowship hall following the service.

                                                A Tyner, NC native, Shirley graduated from Chowan High in 1963 and moved to Greenville, NC to attend Greenville Beauty School back in 1965.  She worked as a cosmetologist, a sales associate for Woodside Antiques, JC Penny’s and the Snooty Fox.  She was also a nursing assistant for Tarheel Home Health.  She was a member and Deacon of First Christian Church.  She loved gardening and spending time on her back porch watching birds in the flower garden.  In her free time, she loved reading, playing bridge and researching genealogy.

                        She is survived by her husband of 58 years Roy C. Jones, Jr.; son, Roy Clifton Jones III and wife, Trish of Seems, AL; daughter, Kimberly Anne Jones Schrempp and husband, Chad of Pawleys Island, SC; sister, Pamela Faye Chappell Goodwin of Suffolk, VA; brother, Donald Herbert Chappell of Tyner, NC; and one granddaughter, Aaron Elizabeth Schrempp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

                                                The family would like to extend a special thank you with sincere appreciation and gratitude to the compassionate staff of Ahoskie House in Ahoskie, NC.

                                                In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider a donation to Alzheimer’s Association or First Christian Church in Greenville.
