William Corbett Obituary

William Bryant Corbett was the son of Jessie and Lula Corbett. He was born on October 18th, 1938 and passed to be with the Lord on January 3rd, 2021. He had three brothers; two preceded in death, James (Dick) Corbett, wife Mattie of Fuquay-Varina; Ray Corbett, wife Robin of Macclesfield; and a surviving brother Ronnie Lee Corbett, wife Annette of Fountain. William Bryant is survived by the love of his life, wife, Joyce Corbett, of 63 years as of January 4th, 2021.  He also leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory which includes his two children, Curtis, wife Penny of Cincinnati, Ohio; Durwood, wife Teresa of Macclesfield; grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Jessica, Brittney and Brooke; and twelve great-grandchildren. Though some lived far away, they were all very near to his heart.

He was a barber that began his second career in Pinetops, Greenville, Tarboro, Walstonburg and Fountain and his customers became very dear friends. He was a charter member of the Sharp Point VFD; a member of the Falkland Ruritan Club and was associated with Woodmen of the World.

He loved camping, fishing, being a farmer, playing the guitar and singing with his favorite audience which was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His closest friend to play the guitar with and shared in perfect harmony with Alvin Lee Letchworth.

He loved the Lord and was very dedicated to his church and its members who became his cherished friends. From his love for the Lord many were brought closer to Christ and his Christian outlook on life was handed down to his sons and their children.  Through his dedication, there was no time wasted on the love he shared with his family and his friends. Many things made him happy in life, but nothing compared to the family he loved and laughed with and throughout his life here on this earth that his savior created.

Thank you, God, for giving us a man who was very special to us and dedicated his life sharing his love with everyone he saw each day whether it was family, friends, or someone he met for the first time.
